Removing Metal Primer

I've just bought another old bike and the mudguards have been painted with metal primer.

Has anyone any advice or experience on how to remove this paint?

Assuming they are metal mudguards, Nitromors can be pretty good. A wire brush in an electric drill is another good possibility or a blowtorch and a paintscraper (don't over do it or they may warp). Or just good old fashioned sandpaper and patience.

Cellulose thinners (available from a car spares shop) or nail varnish remover should shift it.
