Replace free hub worthwhile?

My first set of road wheels, Miche Reflex are still true if a bit beaten up but the free hub has always been noisy and I suspect inefficient.

Is it worth replacing the free hub? My sciroccos always seem so smooth and free spinning....or buy better wheels?

What's the cost of a rear wheel compared with just the freehub?
I was researching a similar dilemma for mavic askium's. A rear wheel can be got for £68, yet a freehub by itself costs close to £40. Might be best to buy a new wheel or pair, but keep the old ones as ready to go spares.

If they’re noisy stick some oil in them.

Yeah I think you could be right, can't see a price for a single rear miche reflex but if a Campag hub is £50+...
