replacement crank please help identify

Some scaffolders destroyed my crank yesterday and I'm desperate to get a new one today. The only direct replacement I can find for the one I currently have on the bike will take a few days to arrive but I can see one that seems similar that I can buy over the counter. Please tell me what are the important things that have to match for me to know it's compatible

My current crank
Alivio FC-M431
Hyperdrive system SG-X
Graduation 48/36/26
Crank length: 175mm
With chain guard
Chainline: 50mm
With chain guard

Possible replacement
Alivio Octalink FC-M430
Hyperdrive system SG-X
Graduation 44/32/22
Crank length: 175mm
With chain guard

I'm not sure about the graduation as some sites say my current one is 44/32/22 and to be honest I have no idea what it is.

count the teeth on your crank set if you can .if you change from that you will have to reposition and adjust the front deraileur

Octolink or square taper , your ordering an Octolink crank so make sure you have an Octolink BB

Alvio is most likely square taper, but you may need a different length bb if the design has changed

I'd ask the LBS to provide the right one if you can't wait for an online delivery of the same product...you might even want them to fit it too
