Replacing Helmet

Assuming no crashes of course where the stability of the helmet could be called into question. So assuming no crashes how often do you replace your helmet?

I read somewhere that one of the manufacturers had done some some scientific tests and reckoned around every 8 years would be ok, it's the inner part that is important

Obviously if you've crashed in it then immediately would be preferable especially if the inner has deformed

I'm sure they'll be a load of others along to totally disagree as this topic in very debatable!

Specialized do a good crash replacement or upgrade service. I upgraded a echelon to a S3 last time a driver was not paying attention.
