Hi,
I recently had my MTB stolen from outside work...very sad to see it go as it had served me for a good ten years but luckily, it was insured! So...I'm looking for a new bike - probably a folding bike this time - and have about £400 to spend.. Dahon Curve is looking the most likely contender for that price right now: http://www.commuterbikes.org.uk/dahon.html Does anyone ride one of these or any have any advice to offer please?
Thanks
Booji

There's an article in Cycling Plus reviewing folding bikes, they've gone for the higher end models but it may give some advice on frames, foldability etc. that translate to the lower end bikes. I like the look of Dahons, they seem to be popular. It's got a 3 speed hub which should cope with most commutes, I take it you don't live in a hilly area? Is there a reason you're replacing an MTB with a folder? Did you used to take the MTB on a train?

Thanks eld, I'll check the article in a mo. No hills really - just 4 miles through London - but want something that won't take up too much room in my flat and that I could posisbly take into the office so am guessing a folder would be best?

Do you have a Dahon? Since I've started to take notice, I seem to see them more of them than any other makes..

I'd try as many folders as you can. They're all different and ride differently, fold more / less compactly and easily, and so on. That's not to say any are particularly good or bad - they're just different.
