I am not saying or suggesting that you are making it up, you have the knowledge of this situation, I don't. I was only suggesting that you think it all through carefully before making the official complaint.

Of course it doesn't appear to be normal behaviour to normal parents but I told you the situation with my neighbour, take away the shouting and verbal abuse and he seems to be a good father. Maybe it's stress, kids, money or a job, who knows?

My father was an alcoholic gambler, I think I'd have preferred to have been shouted at...................

BTW My neighbour that made the complaint did so via a single telephone call to social services and they moved very quickly indeed.

Gromit my darling, be assured you did the right thing, let the professionals make the investigations and decisions.

Take away the murdering and I'm sure Crippen was charming....

Surely verbal abuse is being a bad father? It's all bullying, whether it's physical harm or not.

Gromit: you absolutely did the right thing. The safety and well-being of children is everyone's business.
The Social Services will take action if necessary.

That's why I said "take away"......... I probably hear more than the neighbour who reported him, I'm next door. However, I have daily contact with all the children, that neighbour doesn't. The father provides and spends a good deal of time with them, I don't like the shouting but, considering everything, I wouldn't have reported him (although I'll admit my good lady and I have talked about the situation), but like I said, I am not surprised that somebody else did.

Anyway, if Gromit decides to go ahead, he knows that he only has to make an anonymous phone call to social services. How my neighbours identity became known to the father is a mystery at the mo'

Yes - job well done; especially under the circumstances (my condolences).

I hope it works out well for the kids.
