when i had same issue with a 2yr old Night vision i rang Altura makers and i could have sworn the young lady said knicker wax !

all was clear when i asked her to e mail me a link to the product .........

1. Clean with any of the Tech-Wash type products
2 Stick it in a tumble-dryer on cool for a while
3. Apply reproofing

I reckon Step 2 is most important in getting that as-new 'beadability' back. It raises the nap on the fabric or something.

I wash mine once a year from new - no soap just the TX proofing to restore fabric waterproofing - followed up when dry with a dose of the Grangers spray to make them water repellent - have no problems with breatherbility - I have a goretex that is retired from cycling but I use in bad weather on site that is over 14yrs old that still performs.

The important thing with them I think is not to let dirt build up in/on them

Some good advice here. We tried to reproof an old jacket belonging to my OH earlier this year but it must have been too far gone as it made no difference.

We both have night vision evo jackets now, so will try to remember to reproof them annually.
