Any Ideas where I may be able to find Resilion brake cables or someone that may be able to make them for me?

I have found some NOS cables and have picked up a few old ones that I will be using the fittings, on some that I intend to make for myself.

Please tell me how, and how you get on making up cables, I'm in a similar position, Tandem, damaged cables and a handful of spare parts. Silver soldering?

I am planning on making the nipples from brass, a good friend has a nice little hobby lathe I can use. I will open one end out like this (V) so the New stainless inners can be splayed before soft soldering in place. I hate to say it but Shimano Durace outers are a good match for the later silver/grey Resilion outers.

What is the Tandem you are working on? I have one in the Garage awaiting a renovation. Milne from the 30's Has resilion front and rear, should also have a rear drum (no wheels with it) and Cyclo 3 speed. Which will also be fun to make cables up for.

You may also like to try Venhill engineering a friend uses them for Classic Motorcycle cables, that they make to his spec.

I've a 1934 Saxon Cyclone. Resilion front and rear, plus a hub rear. The front needs attention but don't want to take it apart until competent at making the nipples firmly attach to the cables. Do you think soft solder will do it?

Soft solder should be fine as long as the cable is splayed out enough. Have a look at your originals I think you will find they are soft soldered.
Would like to see some pictures of your Saxon.

Hi, Mine is '34 maybe '35 Saxon Cyclone. I've enjoyed it all summer and found a nice stokers saddle for it. She is really hard to stop at speed! I'll try and get a photo of the head badge in the week. Any photos of yours? http://www.hlloydcycles.com/ has a Saxon head badge in his list, but have not seen it.

Tempered like a Sword, Is Saxon's motto, Do you know about the V CC ?, a great source of info.
