Slo'mo's got it. People who work in restaurants are treated badly by customers and management alike. The crazy levels of staff turnover are testament to that.Well that's true enough, but the unspoken question is why do restaurant staff think their owners would not like them to take money from customers? More than that, create ill will?
Whilst I don't disagree with the poor treatment and the lot of the staff, the Table Nazi mentality surely comes from management rather than the waiters unless the waiters are being particularly jobsworthy. Why should the waiters care where you sit unless they're ordered to do it from above? I can understand the need to optimise seating but only when the place is getting busy.Slo'mo's got it. They also clear the table there and have the next folk seated before you've moved away from the table.
there's a mexican restaurant of cockburn street in edinburgh where mrs alecetc and i turned up at 1930 on spec for a table for two. they told us we might have to move at 2030, but we fancied the food so just went for it. when the waiter started hovering, we ordered another bottle of wine and dessert, and no more was said…
