Our company joined the Halfords Cycle to work scheme. The scheme is run by Halfords, but they say they can get pretty much any bike, so I rang their helpdesk to see whether they could source a Cube Peloton Race for me. They offered a choice of two dealers, one in Bury and one in Sheffield, and it occurred to me that it would be far better for me if my local LBS (a Cube dealer) could supply the bike. I therefore put the LBS owner in touch with Halfords and after a week of negotiating he has been accepted onto their list of approved scheme suppliers.
SO, I get a shiny new Peloton Race for £600 or so, and my LBS get money that I did not particularly want to spend elsewhere. It also means of course that I don't have to have a bike through the post, or drive all the way to Lancashire if anything goes wrong. Hoorah!
