very interesting - the Guardian had a similar article yesterday.

if the Kid lands a decent gig while she's studying she'll simply go to Goldsmiths and say 'I'm taking time out' - which they, apparently, will wear without difficulty.

Good that she can have time out. A friend of mine had to fake insanity to get a year off. That was the easy bit; proving he was sane again after the year out was more problematic.

Goldsmiths is, so I'm told, very unusual in this respect. Which is a great shame, because I'd have thought that snapping up an opportunity and returning would stand the university in good stead.

Well done Montage! A fellow Geography Undergrad on the boards! Have to say though, I am glad I went to University the year I did, I'm honestly not sure I would have been accepted with the A level results I achieved. I didn't work throughout the whole of my school career and ended up with very average grades. Since then I'm on track for a 1st, so it shows that it's possible, and not the end of the world for other who have not been so fortunate today.

Well done Monty :bravo: . I would say get on the bike and go for a blast round the area to celebrate but I take it that your feet haven't recovered enough yet. How much longer have you got before you can get back on the bike?

Lancaster, eh? Nice choice... highest suicide rate in England apparently... but don't let that put you off.

I applied there wanting the great outdoors and to get away from noise/city to concentrate on my Degree... ended up going to Manchester instead, which is reknowned for its location far away from noise and distractions... errrrr.:biggrin:

Congrats, matey! Enjoy.
