Bought two pairs of trousers (non cycling) in M&S online sale the other day - I don't like wasting shops' time/causing them extra work but since it was online I had to order two pairs to check fitting.
Popped along to M&S to pick them up - tried them on - went to counter to return the one that didn't fit and to get a refund for it. Was surprised when I was told that it couldn't be returned as it was an end of sale item. I threw a bit of a fit with them and they relented.
Folks' views/info?
I wasn't claiming that the goods were faulty. they weren't. But I had the idea that I was entitled to hand back for a refund any goods I had bought like this. Distance selling regs?
Am aware that some folks have exploited in the past what used to be M&S's no quibble policy on returns - wearing stuff and then returning - but that was never me. Bad form. I stress that the trousers hadn't left the shop since I picked them up though clearly they had left a central warehouse to get to that branch for pick-up.
