You really must ride it, not rely on sizing tables! I'm 5'11". My first bike, a Secteur, was a 58cm frame which the bike shop said was the size for me. Being a newbug, I didn't know better. The Cinelli I have now is 54cm and it feels so much better. It's not just a height thing. It depends on a lot more, like how long your arms are, how long your legs are compared to your torso, your shoulder width, all kinds of stuff. Strangely enough, the thing I like the very best about the current bike is that the Campagnolo shifters are curved inwards, not straight. They just fall into my hands naturally when riding, unlike the 105s. You really have to ride, not read. Have fun.

Nice choice....did you try one for size first or wing it ? ;)

I'm winging it, but I did speak to them beforehand and talk about my measurements and my current frame size. He said it sounds like a medium would be a happy balance between pace and comfort considering that I'm intending on doing some longer rides next year...super excited now! Just need winter to hold off for a little while longer...

On the size front, Btwin cone up small albeit with longish stem so a 54cm would be on a par with a 53cm cube.

Why not go to some shops and try the bikes. Then discuss price with them as needed

Cycle surgery sell cube, offer finance and will price match

Luckily I'm only in the position of inviting concern / disdain rather than reasonable refusal from my other half so I'm taking full advantage until it's too late

I had a Triban 3, then a 520, now I've a Giant TCR for the summer and I kept the 520 for the winter, it's now got mudguards on and I'm using I for the winter and love it, the best value for money in my opinion so the 540 would deffo be high on my list .I found upgrading with decathlon you will notice a big difference, and I thought the triban 3 was a good bike for the price. Hope this makes since.
