Revolights... any good?

My opinion is that if they didn't look so fragile (that and I wonder about putting the battery on the hub so the battery spins), they'd be pretty good. I tend to think they are more a novelty item. I'd love to see a set up close in real life though.

Looks rather cool but that looks like it adds a fair bit of rotational mass to the wheels and will affect performance.

I don't think I'd want to use them without regular lights as well. From the video, they don't seem to actually give out that much light to see by.

Scrap that, looked into it a bit more.
The rear one isn't much use if you use mudguards

Be good for something like a FNRttC. For commuting though. Nah. More of a fun gimmick rather then a serious commuting light.

I can see how it would improve visibility side-on (as in the video), but I really think you can get an equivalent effect in most situations with a hi-vis top and a decent flashlight mounted to the bike. One good LED on the bars is better than a dozen on your wheels.
