Revolights - Super cool lighting system for cyclests

Yup, I really like the look of them, and could be tempted, but I can't see they'll ever be the only pair of lights you'll need, especially if you need lights to see by, rather than to been seen with.

They claim to project forward 134 lumens. The Hope Vision 1 (a favourite with night riders) claims 240 on high power - and I know that most don't use them on high power.

My biggest quibble would be that the light they project forward apparently isn't directable.

Yes. I saw that figure, but I don't think it means much. As you say, it depends where the light is directed.

I use AyUps, which are excellent, but if I pointed them at my wheels I wouldn't be able to see anything on my winter commute though country lanes!

Still like them though!

No issue on the price. Those of us who have big lights have probably spent far more on individual rear and front lights each.

I paid £40 for a rear (twice over) and £210 for the front I mainly use (Exposure Race, new model at the time). I also have at home a Hope Vision 1 as back up, plus various other commuter lights.

Actually I'm not 100% sure how much my dinotte 400L cost me after import and a large battery, but it was somewhere in that region.

I fully agree with you. This idea is GREAT. I wish I had the second generation of this on my bike.
Do not let the turds here to pull you down with their negativity.

Jealous, that is what they are because they did not think of this themselves.
Most of them belong to the Flat Earth Society.

Its a faff. Lights that are a faff dont get used, dont sell as well (look at battery and cable systems, no where near as popular as battery-IN-light systems). You cant use it on multiple bikes, you cant change the angle, if the timing fails it will send light out in all directions - timing has to be rock solid.

Judging from the video they're pathetic compared with most handlebar and dynamo lights.

I can't understand why they're shouting about being low down, we used to have fork mounted lights and bought bar mounts to get the lights higher up so we could see properly!

however good they are they're too fussy and complicated, and just on that basis I'm certain they'll fail to sell.

Exactly...

..and how is this light going to be seen from the high up view of a HGV cab? If its the "only light you need" then its far too low down. It would also be illegal in the UK if run on its own, iirc
