My observations about my Reynolds 531 frames.
I have large frames 60cm, I find that 531 butted have less flex than 531C (Competition).
So, I prefer to ride 531 butted frames, but a smaller 531C frame would probably have less flex than my larger frames.
531 non butted are good, but a bit heavy for hills.
Flex can be seen when you put all your power down into the pedal and the bottom racket moves significantly.
