This science centre for youngsters in Sweden should have done a bit more research into its name:

http://www.tomtit.se/english/ but it makes me chuckle when people use it unknowingly.

And just read this route description: 'Approximately 30 minutes from Stockholm. Follow the brown signs for Tom Tits Experiment from all motorway exits.' :laugh:

....also some years back used to hear people say 'she's got a nice pair of Dimmocks'.........so the language is indeed evolving..........

Mutton - deaf. Not sure why it is though but my dad would say Mutton Jeff meaning deaf
Pen - Pen and Ink - stink
Butchers - Butchers Hook = look
Barnet - Barnet Fair - hair

I believe it's from Mutt and Jeff an American cartoon strip.

Funny thing is all this rhyming was normal chat when I was a nipped. Taking me back to gas street lamps and the council workers pushing a handcart.
