Credit where it is due Ribble really have turned round their unfortunate poor service reputation they had several years ago.

I ordered several little insignificant parts on Tuesday evening and they arrive today perfectly packed . Every part has been seperately re-wrapped by Ribble with a printed model and type reference slip enclosed so that it is easy for them to keep check of stock levels and less likely that someone will ship us the wrong part in error.

There are numerous cyclists who remember the bad old days and still refuse to buy from Ribble.
The unfortunate rule in business is once you have aquired a bad reputation,( deserved or not,) it takes years and years to reverse it.

Give you an example what is the one thing that everybody and his mother knows about Porsche water cooled cars ?
....yes its that hoary old chestnut that 30 years ago the 924 model was fitted with engine blocks from Audi vans.
Now every water cooled Porsche produced from that date on is saddled with that indictment.
'Thats the one with the Audi engine isn't it?'

Give Ribble a chance. I think you will be impressed with their stock, their service and especially their prices.
Excellent Ribble well done.

I can't fault Ribble either. I'm not sure that the switch to concentrating in online sales will have had an effect as they were separately run operations.

Never heard the Porsche/Audi story before. It doesn't surprise me though as Porsche and VW have been linked ever since the beginning. Cross-platform sharing was started in the 70s, so it could be argued that Porsche/VW AG were doing something new and ultimately successful.
The 924 was ugly anyway.

yep the 924 sure were crap but what a revolution it started with first the 924S and later the 944 ,944s,944 Turbo, 944S2, 944S2 Cabrio and last the 968:biggrin:

My 944S2 has a 3.0 lt engine 225bhp and cost £40,000 over 20 years ago !.
You could buy a Jaguar XK sports car for that back then and still have enough change left over to buy a small hatchback

I'm getting the Ribble Sportive at the moment, there was a small problem with the bars I specified being out of stock on account of the manufacturer going bust. On Saturday afternoon we exchanged half a dozen very quickly replied e-mails and I authorised an alternative bar and the small adjustment in cost. Finally the guy apologised that the bike would take three weeks to despatch because they are busy in the workshop.

So far, I can't fault them, and the couple of smaller items I've previously bought turned up promptly and well packed. - A satisfied Ribble customer I am!

I too can't fault them either. Although quite a few products are out of stock, what they do have in stock is very competiviely priced, and their postage is quick and well packaged.
