Needs a white saddle and tape

Phoning seems a sensible suggestion. I think fulcrum 5 wheels are pretty good too, perhaps also the cheaper 7s. I probably choose better tyres, saves the hassle of changing them soon

I got my Fulcrum 5s two years ago (I think)...regardless, they're quite light, strong and look ok. Despite (forgive me if i'm boring you all telling you again :laugh:)...despite dropping into a storm drain and giving the front wheel a bloody great bang....they stayed true. They're strong, no doubting that IME.
5s do have a recommended weight limit, i'm only 10.5 to 11 stone, so not heavy, but they have the specs on their website.
Assuming a lot, but if for instance OP went for Fulcrums with Gators..they're a flaming nightmare to get on hen new ..but then I read the same of Gators fitted to other wheels as well.
Very good wheels at £150.

Cheers

Got my commuter for that

Sportive vs gran fondo?

Gran Fondo is probably a bit more sturdily built - it's slightly heavier. In the normal scheme of things I would hazard a guess that the Fondo is a bit slower but a tad more comfortable.

I'm a bit confused about the quoted price above. Are the forks extra?

Think the forks are included in the price

I'm nit debating wether to drop the 105 and go for the tiagra ?

And upgrade the wheels instead?

Saddle and tape still need to be changed to white on the Ribble

Have you ridden the Cube at least? That is the problem with Ribble versus an off the shelf bike

I've not had a ride on the cube...not sure wot it will tell me if I can't compare with the ribble

If it fits you well or not. That's the problem with buying a bike online vs going to your LBS. You can go to a shop and you should be able to do a test ride. If you buy the Ribble and if you find it's not for you, tough.

For me, I'd stay away from a Ribble, I'm one of the ones who a bad experience with them.
Customer service poor.
Bike build poor.
Certain parts cheap - Poor.

I'd completely stay away from Rodi wheels, the splines on the hub are made of cheese (Philadelphia not Cheddar), after only putting around 500 miles on them, the splines have deep grooving from the cassette, compared to a Shimano R500, that has around 2000miles on them, with no visible marks on the splines.

I too would steer clear of Ribble.
Lots of people have no problems...... but I wasn't one of them.

Take a look at Planet X as an alternative.

Most of Planet X bikes within the price range are all SRAM.

I too have been looking at the Sportive Bianco & Gran fondo but the more I look the higher the price is getting, only going to be using it on weekends and good weather commutes.
