The usual reason is that you ride a Brompton anyway, and it makes getting to the start and back from the finish relatively easy.

LEJOG/JOGLE on a Brompton isn't all that rare. An 87 year-old chap did it on one last year, and according to wikinunreliable, the record is held by rootes OTP in 8 days.
