Richard III only had himself to blame, it is revealed.

What rot. If he'd been wearing a helmet it would've grabbed at the weapons, causing a fatal neck injury. Remember, back then the only helmets they had were those Oxford pith pots.

I am afraid that this is more about HiViz.

He was in a car park and not wearing HiViz - perhaps if he had been those careless people swinging swords around would have seen him and been more careful not to hit him
What about the wound received to his pelvis. Admittedly this is thought to have been caused post mortem from a sword up the jacksie.

I'd also like to bet that every single sword wielded during the battle was an illegal length and did not carry the H&S message that 'Edged weapons can be dangerous!' Similarly at Hastings in 1066 no H&S warning were issued about firing arrows into the air.

I hate to be petty but a warning was given at Hastings.
The H&S officer in question, a Mr Fletcher Shaft, was heard to say, " You want to watch him with that thing. He'll have somebodies eye out."

The helmets back then were only safety tested with a blow from a small wooden mallet moving at less than 12 mph.
No liability can be accepted for a blow with greater force using a larger weapon. (ooh er, that sounds a bit rude)

Ah! I see! Some comfort, but you did beat me, due to me havering about adding something else and deciding against it. I will just have to be content with my status as possibly the only CCer to have performed in a professional production of Shakespeare's Richard III - yeah baby!
Possibly one of only two CCers... My film career began and ended with the film Diggs mentioned. I'm in the scene where they are loading trains, filmed at Carnforth.

It's going to turn out that every one here has been in a production of RIII.

No mention of Safety Goggles then?

What did Ye Olde Health and Safety Inquisition actually do in those days?

Ye Olde Weather Forrecast:
Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.

The cold weather spell has receded and been replaced by sunny spells. The lingering cloud will clear towards the coastal areas.....
