Ridgeback ... exclusive to John Lewis

Just window-shopping on the Ridgeback website, they have a new model in their Rapide Eqipt range, the Nova.

BUT this Nova model is labelled 'exclusive to John Lewis'. Do any other bike manufacturers do retailer tie-ups like this?

It's no big deal really is it? All they need to do is bolt some trivial part to it, or stick a sticker on it, and they can say that it's exclusive. Doesn't mean much.
