I will, once I learn the basic technique..... ^_^ it might come handy one day, you never know ;)

I learnt to ride with no hands on the handlebars some years ago.....

I don't recommend combining this with the steps.

Go for it - steps are fun, and easy on an mtb (especially one with suspension). Just choose a not-too-steep and not-too-long flight for your first go, and one where you can see it's clear at the bottom. Get your weight back and stay off the brakes! One tip, though - if you ride with your seat quite high, drop it. It is possible, if your seat is too high, to get stuck behind your saddle so that you can barely reach the bars. This may not necessarily result in a crash, but it will make you look like a right tit. DAHIKT.

When I was young(er) and fit, ca 1990, I cycled around the Sydney Opera House on a mate's MTB. I was chased by two 'security guards' (more like the Keystone Cops) yelling at me 'get off that bloody bike, ya fakn prikk' but I just rode rings round them and then finally down the steps to shouts of encouragement from a large-ish crowd that had gathered.

Looking back, I must have felt like Danny McAskhill does now.

I used to ride my "racer" down steps, (no helmet either).
That was many moons ago, wouldn't dream of abusing my lovely bike like that now :bicycle:
