Not to sure?
MTB for me to, although I have to wash it down every night to get rid of the salt residue. ;)

Done the tow path route a couple of times, but its getting a bit scary in the dark now the snow is compacted. The canal is still frozen over and I really fancy taking a dip this side of the summer.

I'm doing well on the hybrid, i cant face using my MTB to commute any more and i dont trust myself with the race bike and ice and salt. Im taking my time though and just being as safe as poss at 6 am in the morning.

Dug my old MTB out for this weather which I do not mind so much as I despise them on open roads etc, but when their in their own element then there not so bad and can be a bit of fun. Fancy getting a cyclo cross though in the future to replace it.

is dire!!!

Been using cheapo MTB to ride to work thru the snow, cos its gots knobbly tires, and I love the snowy bits but riding on the main roads is 'orrible. And its got no mudguards on! And I had to dig it out of the snow on Tuesday morning to use it. And I had to fit some lights on it!

Normally on Planet X in summer or winter bike in winter (obviously). Wish I hadnt got rid of me old cross bikes, they would have been just right.

Whinge over. Bye.....

Whinge continued......

Just to top it all, riding home last night and snapped my chain. Finished up sprawled in the road, then hands covered in oil joining chain back together in the snow. Stunning.

F***ing MTB:smile:

been using my MTB since feb last yr for work and love it dont get great speeds average 19mph faster downhill lol clocked up 4000 miles so far and had a few scary moments in the snow past few weeks.i have been looking at a road bike or at least a hybird as do want a second bike but to be honest just dont know what to look for that and the fact girlfriend thinks i treat my bike better than her and if i get another she will have no chance with me lol

cheers

I've been on a borrowed MTB since just before xmas and glad of it. I bought some panacer tyres for use on tarmac. They're quite wide and knobbly but much quicker than the off road tyres which were on it originally. I've enjoyed the ride and made it through just about everything that's come out of the sky - commuted every day bar one.

BUT just starting a run of 7am starts and that extra 10 minutes on the ride is 10 minutes too many at that time in the morning. Can't wait to get cross bike from shop on Wednesday.
