I think I should point out that moccasins are perfectly suitable for wearing outside if they don't have a rubber sole. My first pair were just leather, bought for backpacking, but I've been unable to get any without 'lambswool' inside for many a year. Current pair do have a hole in the toe but are fairly serviceable.
