I suspect the end of the bridleway before the bridge is a mapping issue, but the green diamonds indicate a right of way ("recreational route") south on the canal.

EDIT: although, interestingly, it's not shown on Gloucestershire's online version of the definitive map. https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/prow/rights-of-way-online-map/

I have found Glos Council to be a little, shall we say, selective about what they show on the on-line map, they do say the on-line map is not as accurate as the definitive map held at Shire Hall.

This might explain the barriers. https://www.cotswoldcanals.net/phase_1b

As an ex-RoW officer for a Land Rover club I can concur that Glos CC are very lax in keeping both the on-line and physical definitive maps up to date. I have wasted more hours than I care to think about at Shire Hall trying to fill in the gaps of the definitive map, generally without success even when they (reluctantly) provide the changes that have yet to be implemented on the map. If you think bridleways and footpaths are a mess you should have seen it when RUPPs were being regraded as RBs
