I've got a PlanetX London Road and have recently suffered a puncture from a small piece of glass. Its time to get some proper tyres. I'm tempted by Schwalbe Marathon Plus, but at 35C they weigh 900g. I don't go off road very often. Could I step down to 28C(750g)? or is there another brand I should be looking at?

How often do you get punctures, once in a blue moon? If so, I personally wouldn't go with M+ heavy slow sluggish slippery things, that are hard to get on and off if you do get a puncture. There are other puncture resistant options. I recently got some 32mm Duranos from Chain Reactions that were around £15
