I saw a quote from his agent earlier saying that he was recovering from a fall, didn't see if there was any mention of it being connected though.

yes he did, even if I had zilch interest in his various performances.
well except the masterful one of good humour he pulled off in being the butt of so many jokes.
Nice line in the bbc obit, for of course he managed to stick around for a hell of a long time -

He was never in fashion so he never went out of fashion.

Maybe a lesson for all of us there.

He had a rare ability among the famous (and not so famous), in that he could enjoy a good laugh at his own expense.
