RIP George Cohen

Now some of you might not have heard this but in 1966 England won the World Cup.

It's just been announced that one of the winning team has died, if my memory is right that only leaves Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst.

I'm pretty sure I saw him playing for Fulham at Burnden Park - around 1967 (perhaps in a cup match). I also think Bobby Moore was in that team - did he move to Fulham after West Ham? Anyway - we told Bobby Moore what he could do with his Vitalis ..

Before my time, I wasn't even born then.

I was at the last game at Burnden though, before the kick off a camera panned round and did a close up of me eating a pie, I've still got a VHS copy of it somewhere. 😂

Like I said on https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/the-football.94553/page-1885, there's only Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst left now. I wonder if they wonder who will be the last one?🤔 Bobby Charlton looks old and slightly confused when you see him in the stand at Old Trafford, whereas Geoff Hurst looks young for his age and sounds/talks very compos mentis.

I believe Charlton has dimentia and a few other health problems too. Geoff Hurst (My boyhood hero) has had a pacemaker fitted, but otherwise seems to be fit and healthy for an 80 year old.
