I was soaking up some Arizona late-afternoon rays with a New Jersey colleague when a wise-guy lookalike (or wannabe) went past and called over to the Jersey guy I was with that Gandolfini had died. What a way to find out. A very sad and very untimely death of a true legend.

He was one of the few people who swore more than me. Big sad eyes even when T was kicking three barrels out of some punk. Such a shame.

I have just read this on the news, very sad, James Gandolfini was a fantastic actor, he made the Sopranos, I can't imagine anyone else in the part.

It's very sad when a favourite actor, musician or other talent dies.

My all time fave TV show was the Soparanos, the whole cast was superb, the script was fantastic, and the production slick.

That's sad, just been watching some scenes from the Sopranos on YT forgotten what a genius programme it is. Will never say a series was almost as good as the Sopranos again. Nothing gets close.

i've never seen a single eposide of the Sopranos, it sounds like I'm missing out. I'm sure there will be plenty of re-runs on soon.
But I have to agree that 51 is no age at all.
He didnt look like the most healthy man, but he was no Richard Griffiths either.
