Just heard he passed away yesterday.


Writer of some truly exceptional old-school space opera Sci-Fi.
His Mote series with Larry Niven is one of my favourites,

Brilliant writer, and a great predictor of the future in the manner of Clarke.

Sad news, he used to appear on one of my podcasts every now and then, they did a nice tribute to him.

Brings back memories, his column in Byte was always a great read. RIP Jerry.

I have no idea who he is or what he done, however after a 3 and a half minute you tube clip I know this much, he seemed like a good guy, was funny and I would have liked him.
