I've a Rudy Altig tandem languishing up the alley by the garage.

Great rider - saw him at the Skol6, riding the motor paced event. His pacer had mechanical problems and dropped out, but instead of packing, he dropped behind another rider. The cheer from the crowd was enormous, but the rider in front was unaware of what was happening (or pretended to). The pacer got his derny working again and Rudi rejoined the correct pacer and of course won the race in a mad last lap three up sprint.

Will always remember - RIP

If that was in the late sixties or early seventies it rings a bell in my memory banks.

Early 70's.

I was lucky to have a friend who lived in our village, whose father worked for Ind Coope and was one of the organisers of the Skol6. Used to get loads of complementary tickets for the midweek nights and centre passes as well. But had to buy my own last night tickets. Was a great night when Tony Gowland won.

If you're interested in selling it, I'm looking for a retro bike to take to Eroica Britannia in 2017...... PM me ?
