Noooo.Aged 90.
You have to be of a certain age to remember his hey day but he was special.
Ahhh the good old Brownie 127.I met him, once, after he'd won at Goodwood, sometime in the 1960's. He was walking through the paddock, clutching his laurel wreath, and my dad asked him if it was alright to take a photo (with his Box Brownie!) He was happy to pose with my sister, and I, while my dad took some snaps.
Sadly, the photo has been lost.
RIP A true legend of the track.
It was always the riposte back in the day that whenever a copper stopped you for speeding he'd usually say " Who do you think you are Stirling Moss?". His name was simply synonymous with speed.
Nobody has done more for promoting British motorsports.
Wasn't he in a TV commercial with that exact scenario? It was always the riposte back in the day that whenever a copper stopped you for speeding he'd usually say " Who do you think you are Stirling Moss?". His name was simply synonymous with speed.
Nobody has done more for promoting British motorsports.
He was a little bit in awe of himselfI've met him. I thought he was a bit of a nob, but i'm not pleased to see the old old feller has dropped off his perch.
