Obituaries are weird (and not something I normally even get to see beyond mainstream news reports of more famous people passing).

But a few days ago I got the University magazine from my 1st degree university and it had an Obituary listing sorted by year of degree award and I noticed somebody on my course had died. I didn't know the individual. Same course but different group of friends but that he had died made me feel quite sad but I couldn't understand the feeling and wondered if it part I was highlighting my own "more past than future".
