Ugh, f***ing Freemen.

Bunch of weirdos, conspiracy theorists and ultra-libertarians who go on dodgy websites looking up ancient bits of law that have long since been superceded and try to get out of paying council tax and fines.

Found a very good article on the phenomenon here, albeit under an American perspective:
http://www.examiner.com/skepticism-...e-land-myth-debunked?do_not_mobile_redirect=1

You often hear self congratulatory stories on their websites when one of them manages to 'get one over on the system' by continuously adjourning trials for fines by constantly obfuscating the process.

You rarely then hear the follow up when they eventually lose and have to pay multiples of the original fine, and/or get declared bankrupt.

personally the i think the cyclist embarist his self , maybe his alleged rlj was recorded on his own camara, its a shame the officer lost it rather a
than arrest and detain the pillock untill he gave his name! and to himi say why not give your name ? are you ashamed of who you are? what are you hideing? and if your so right why not prove it in court? i found that behavoir places you in my folder marked waste of a human, but my opinion only , have a hug

And there is still the unanswered charged of jumping a red light.
I guess the police will not want to get involved because they should also press charges against the officer for assault? And may be they should, this was a rubbish policeman that lost his composure and tried to grab the camera; we pay the police a serious amount of money and I expect a lot better than this.
No assault I'm afraid. He made a grab for the cyclist to arrest/detain, has various legal rights to do so.

He was pretty crap though, doesn't need to know act and section to quote to people like the cyclist, but he should have had the courage of his convictions. If he had, I expect the next few minutes of video would have been of indignant squealing and the sound of two people waiting for a police van to arrive where one of them was pretty sure the nasty policeman shouldn't have been sitting on him. .

Would be good to post this thread where police may see it-just to show most of us are not on the side of the tool of a man who happens to be riding a bicycle.

err 400bhp... a number of the frequent visitors to this forum are police officers

I am sure they will point their colleagues in an appropriate direction if required

Also any cyclists in the Edgeware Road area, who might recognise the idiot's voice might happen to mention a name to their local police station...

Ahahahaha, cockwomble. Classic!

However, I do have to disagree with Cubist. I think the PC was going for the camera, not an arrest.

This is the MET we're talking about.

Yeah, I expect he lunged for the camera, but it was to preserve evidence of the offence WHILST making an arrest.

Have just skipped through this posting but seems to me the "learned cyclist" i.e barrack room lawyer on a bike forgot the basic rule or has not yet learnt it. " When you are in the wrong keep quiet" because "Those with power have friends and long memorys" So the plonker has left himself wide open for all sorts of charges that would normally be ignored and he has no one to blame but his own big mouth.
