It's carnage out in North Yorkshire!

On the way back from the Midlands, hit a cock pheasant scarpering across the road at about 70mph (the car not the pheasant) - couldn't swerve safely as I had a queue of cars behind. All blood, feathers and headless guts on impact; didn't stick a chance :-( Didn't fly - silly wingless bird. ... so:

New Zealand is a great place to cycle but every where you go outside of the towns every 100m or so there is the smell of dead possum

If you cycle far enough you see most every thing - there are many animals that I have seen the carcases of but never seen a live one in the wild - but the joy of being on a bike is seeing the rare alive and well - my most recent sightings were an Eagle Owl in southern Germany and Great Bustard in Scandinavia - and maybe an Elk -it was too big to be a deer and too athletic to be a cow - put it down as a possible

I think the results have been skewed by the world travellers!

I did a little tour round Mars a while ago and saw a dead Venusian on the verge - I don't know how it got there!

It was near the bar where I bought a crater beer!
