I spent Thursday morning at the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square being interviewed for eligibility for an extended non-immigrant visa. Being interviewed is a bit of a misnomer. I was there from half past eight to quarter past eleven in two separate queues and the first interview lasted all of a minute and the second interview lasted two minutes. The only documentation looked at other than my passport was the first map of the Northern Tier cycle route all other evidence relating to finances and compelling reasons to want to return to the UK were ignored.

@User14044 kindly agreed to come into London and have lunch with me before I went off to the Wellcome Trust Museum. I had compelling reasons to meet up with him - he promised me a venue with pies, fine ales and cider. There was also the opportunity to compare notes on the stewardship of out troublesome butlers - they've had their heads turned by some of the political flyers that we hadn't managed to intercept and bin before they got their hands, hand in the case of Fenton, on them.

I arrived a tad late at the Bree Louise in Coburg Street to find rocky waiting for me and after a couple of Pyders for me and Sauvignon wine for Rocky we ordered pies.

I know, i know a crustless bottom does not fit the criteria of proper pies, I think Rocky's butler made off with his crust off his haggis pie and my Steak, Mushroom and red wine 'pie' was flavoursome and filling. The drinking continued accompanied by an exchange of anecdotes and sharing of frivolity and fun and four hours of drinking this

later, we abandoned any plans to visit the Welcome Trust museum and continued drinking for another hour. The time flew and it was time for Rocky to make his way back to Finchley. We continued gabbing on our way back to Euston station marvelling at the parallels in our lives before the biggest overlap - I revealed that my maternal bloodline was McFarlane one at which point Rocky revealed that he's a McFarlane. We're related :hugs: - probably though I'm from the rich McFarlanes and he's from the sheep rustling scion.

To round off a great day, I got to meet Mrs Rocky. I have to say, he's punching above his weight there!

Thanks for a great afternoon Rocky!

Disappointed with Rocky and Vern still perpetuating the class divide, I don't see either of the butlers.

We certainly didn't see Rocky's butler nick his pie crust - we knew it was him, the trail of dandruff to the emergency exit gave the game away. Mine was voting by proxy on my behalf back in Leeds.

We McFarlanes do not let class get in the way of kinship especially when our trust funds are larger than the GDP of Brunei :okay:
