Very stupidly rode onto a drain cover like attached picture at the "correct" angle, the front wheel of my Sirrus Sport (Carbon forks) fell in the gap. Luckily I was travelling at speed, so the bike got out straight away, but I did feel a hugh impact of the bump.

I checked the front wheel afterwards and the wheel seems to be true and the front forks look fine. Is there anything else I need to worry about?

If you weren't going fast enough to buckle the wheel I wouldn't worry about it.

OT but some scrote nicked all of the grids from the gutters along this stretch... I don't usually ride that close to the kerb but still a little disconcerting... Eventually someone (presumably the council) erected little fences round them, presumably as a safety measure

.

Unbelievable - I mean who'd buy them ("yeah, I come by van loads of grids from legitimate sources all the time, honest guv")? What would they be worth?

Anyway, they've been replaced since.

The wheel is fine, thanks.

I was making a turn into the street on my right and hence i was going at the angle for the wheel to slot right in....

Pretty stupid.
