I leave mine to dry (it's stored inside) and clean it some time between rides.
And the same goes for my bicycles.

That's why I have a wet weather bike. It doesn't need cleaning because the next time I use it will get rained on again.

I finished cleaning my bicycle today, after a week of pouring rain.

It was a good job that I did, initially I thought I was just having a bad day... but by the third "bad day" I thought I might be coming down with something, or that I was getting less fit.... turns out the brake callipers had slipped out of alignment on the rear wheel so it constantly had a brake pad rubbing against it.

Hopefully for my commute tomorrow I can power it up some of the hills with a lot more ease then I have been doing.

When i had company cars, rules said they had to be kept clean, so i diligently cleaned mine every 3 years whether they needed it or not - just before they went back to the lease company.

That reminds me of when my Dad had a company car, it would get cleaned occassionally, but you always knew when it was ready to go back to the company as it would be cleaned and tidied to within an inch of its life the day before!!
