if it's too low brow or cash-in for you stick to the fancy art cinema stuff.
Fast and Furious it is then!

I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
It was an enjoyable enough romp...

The new CGI character they introduced at the end wasn't as good as the one they introduce at the beginning though.
Absolutely, the first character wasnt perfect but it was good enough that it didnt bug me. I think the trade off was worth it because it was important for that character to be there. The second one was... off for me, maybe because they spent more time on the other characetr whereas that one was for just one scene and for a few seconds.

They did really well with the robot though, by just using his eyes and physical expression they gave him a lot of life.

Incorrect I'm afraid. The 'Part IV' bit was added a more than a year after the original films release, doubtless when George Lucas decided he needed the money for a new beard trimmer or conservatory.

Scroll down to where it says 'title' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_(film) where it is described as a 'retroactive addition'.
True although its my understanding that it was not put on because 20th century fox forbade it because they thought it would be confusing. They didnt want people wondering where the first parts were.

Yep, that's what I've read too.

You could argue that the 'Star Wars Stories' are cashing in, but if they're good films in their own right, who bloody cares? At least they're actually doing new stuff/augmenting the main trilogies, unlike Harry Potter/The Hobbit/Twilight/Hunger Games which chopped a book in half for no good reason.

Not quite.
The Empire Strikes Back was always Part V. Star Wars was retrofitted with Part IV and the hope subtitle to bring it into line with Empire. The marketeers decided US audiences could not cope with a film being IV from the off. See also Madness of King George III.

Stick yer revisionism up yer bum. I had the "gold edition" box set of the original trilogy on VHS, which came out in the 90s and the first film was still called just "Star Wars" then - at least, that's what it said on the outside of the box, which is all that matters and all I care about. And it's not open for discussion.

The reason they didn't call it "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" when it first came out in 1977 is because it's an utterly terrible name for a film and no one would have gone to see it. "Star Wars" is proper Ronseal school of film naming.

Besides, I refuse to acknowledge the existence of episodes I-III.

I quite liked the one that came out last year though, and I'm interested in seeing the new one - mainly because it's directed by the excellent Gareth Edwards.

Son went to see it when it opened, by himself as any talking from his mates during it would have driven him nuts. He loved it - real SW geek.
He did a shift at work then as someone had a spare ticket went to see it again, within the same day. Safe to say he liked it.

I - III are good fun, apart from the wooden Ewan McGregor and Jaja feckin Binx or whatevs it's called.
