Real Madrid are yet to confirm it but I think we can assume CR is on his way.

Sounds like a good bit of business (again) from Man U. Ronaldo is a brilliant player but £80M is a lot of money. Tevez could stay now, and Ferguson gets a big wallop of cash to spend. I fancy you'll see him try and get Ribery from Bayern. He's a great player and I reckon the English game will suit him.

Where are Real Madrid getting the money from?

at least now Rooney can nail him without worrying about it being a team mate

Ha ha yes, Champions League next year I may actually watch a United game with positive emotions!

Agreed - but he was like Souness and open with his aggression - not a sneaky little t**t with theatrical roll overs.

I will never forgive him for getting Rooney sent off:angry::biggrin::angry::smile:

It's a peculiarly British attitude, though isn't it? Outright assault is ok because it's obvious, but if johnny foreigner fakes injury then they are the devil incarnate.

Full blooded tackles are one thing, but deliberately breaking your opponent's leg should be rewarded with a spell at Her Majesty's pleasure, IMHO.

But its the same as Cantona... ok he got more of a punishment (because it was a fan) but the 'public' forgave him for that kick pretty swifty because he didnt try and hide it and joke about it.

For some reason I guess we as the public warm to an open thug more than a sneaky cheating weasel!

Why is that?

Ay, true enough.

Plus I'm sure there's the odd Brit player (or 50) that's not averse to the full reverse triple somersault with tuck and half-pike twist.

he as a player is not worth that much no but in terms of revenue that he will bring in to Madrid in shirt sales they will make that money up before the end of the season.

he is also the worlds best player, but barca still win everything

Dunno Wigise. And as Yello says, it's not as if some England players are adverse to a dive in order to win a penalty. I've certainly seen Owen and Gerrard do it in the past.

For me, cheating (by play acting) to get a player sent off is a lot less serious than cheating (by assualt) to end a player's career.

Corrected for you

But your right about the Revenue in shirt sales, its an investment as with Beckham, Zidane and Figo (Although they were also a bit good with a football)

I'd say good luck to the boy. He is a w*nk but a decent player. It's not his fault Real have paid £80m for him.

Personally if I was a Man U fan I'd be delighted and despite clubs now taking the piss and upping their prices to Man U as they know thay have £80million I'd hope Ferguson bought the following

Me personally I would buy:

Young from Villa - £10-£15m

Aguero from Athletico - £20-£25m

David Villa - Valencia - £30m

Henry - Barca - £15m

That would soon get over the loss of the wee greasy face tit

Gordon Brown has described the sale as "sad" and the Sports Minister Gerry Suttcliffe has had to dash to the Radio studios to re-inforce the governmental response to this tragic news.

I wonder what Platini has to say about where RM are getting the money from to fund the transfer.

No you are right and I am guilty of this, so I was curious as to why there was so much resentment for players like Ronaldo yet the overly physical (and sometimes thuggish) players are seemingly let off & gather like a hero/rock status (Keane, V.Jones, T.Smith, J.Dicks, Souness etc).

Yeah, Julian Dicks was a cult hero at West Ham. I never shared that view - typically he would miss one third of a season through injury, and another third through suspension. Mind you, he was a brilliant penalty taker.

Trying to break someones legs is also terrible and should not be accepted but most of the hard men mentionad just made hard bone shaking tackles that didn't do any lasting damage but sorted out the men from the boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
