So as per my post in the towbar mounted cycle rack thread I've re-fitted my Thule roof bars to put the bikes up top. I took the chance to upgrade the carrier as well from the older Freeride to the newer Proride 598. As always the Thule instructions can be a bit cryptic but I managed it, I did make my usual mistake of not fitting the bars onto the feet before attaching them to the car. Also thank god I have a subroof, after fitting I needed the serial number to register and its printed on the bottom of the carrier dammit lol.

My new car is lower than my last one, but lifting 2 ebikes up and down will certainly give me a workout!

You'll be getting a workout out lifting the bikes up. I got my 2 pro-rides off a guy who actually dropped a bike whilst loading up. He swapped over to towbar mounted instead. Be careful Wiggydiggy. I've seen some people use a small collapsible stool to help them load up

The very first time I did it, on my old car which was taller, I forgot to remove the battery as well lol I'll be taking it steady, I've tried to position them closer to the edge as well without having them stick out beyond the silhouette of the car.
