About 12c at the moment. I was away for a week and the 70cm stone walls cooled down, it was 5c when I arrived. The 3kw paraffin heater should get it back to 14c or 15c this evening - luxury!

The numbers that a lot of you are coming up with must mean that you are never comfortable strolling around in shorts and a tee-shirt on an average UK summer day then? (I'm not talking about the crap ones we've had the past 3 or 4 years.)
I think you will find the last three or four years are not far off what an average UK summer is (2007 excepted).
I don't wear shorts outside unless it gets above about 24C, I'll wander around in short sleeves from 20C upwards. Of course, whether it is sunny or cloudy and the wind speed makes a difference as to how warm I will feel outdoors, so the above temperatures can vary significantly.
During the hot July of 2006, I occasionally wore long, light coloured walking trousers and my legs felt cooler than when I was wearing shorts.

Wow - I just looked up the stats and you are right; in fact, those summers were slightly warmer than average! They certainly didn't feel like that to me.
All I know is that there were a lot of gloomy damp days up here in West Yorkshire so I ended up doing much less cycling than I normally would.

No idea what the temperature is here, the heating comes on for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. It's set for 20C, but as our house is draughtier than Satan's knickers takes about a day to get anywhere near that.
The coal fire is lit in the evening but that still doesn't get the whole room above about 18C. Nice and toasty when you're two feet away from it though!

I didn't have the place quite this cold when I had money to spare!
I'm quite happy at the moment without any heating on, but I am wearing a long-sleeved base layer, a tee-shirt and a big jumper. Oh, and since I started balding, I wear a woolly hat indoors when it's cold!
