I've been a great fan and paying for cycle.travel for quite a time now but trying to plan a tour and can't import gpx because apparently too large (though is sort of imports fine but then no save option). It actually isn't that large and is only one section of the route anyway.

Downloaded from a different route planner (Komoot) so others clearly do support such size routes.

Trouble is cycle.travel's own in-build routes are very very limited and if you can't even add parts of others I need to find another route planner and urgently.

Basically need to load gpx routes, tweak them in small ways, see altitude profiles and download turn by turn directions to Garmin Edge.

One of the "nice to haves" that cycle.travel provided was the Find accomodation/campsites close to the route which was nice but I can live without and can find alternatives.

Many thanks
Ian

Garmins own route planner works well so does Ride With GPS.

With the very best will in the world, I will have a look at it asap but it’s Saturday evening and I can’t guarantee to dive into the C++ at a moment's notice. If you can email me the GPX in question (the link you posted on the c.t support forum is a paid-for Komoot link that I can't access) I can take a look.

I wasn't raising this thread as any sort of complaint or knee jerk reaction. Raised it as a need for a solution which I assumed meant a different platform. I fully recognise cycle.travel is not a bespoke solution for my needs.

In past years I've drifted doing day routes each evening with a few longer established routes, some of which are in cycle.travel's in-built route offerings, some of which I've loaded large gpx's into cycle.travel and some "both" where I've loaded the gpx to later find it was also already in cycle.travel's in-built route.

My personal urgency is muscle issues have delayed my original plans (start June depart drifting round France) so now hoping for imminent (muscles obliging) depart and looking at out and back on R1 (won't manage it all in available time). EV2 would take me to German-Polish border but I'd still need to load the Dutch EV2 gpx (not tried yet) and them R1 in Poland, edit some detours round Kaliningrad And be checking altitude profiles for estimating how far I might get.

So reality I can get away with not loading the DE section and use c.t's Route Guides EV2 through Germany but still have to load NL and Polish sections which I'd edit out of the gpx I have for the entire route (entire route does give a failure error on load).

I'm not paid member of Komoot, just did a free register (not even confirmed e-mail) to download gpx. Happy to e-mail you the gpx on Monday as I'd feel very guilty b@£&$%#ing up somebody's Sunday in a system that is basically free (I am a donor but that certainly does not buy me Sunday immediate response code changes!) Plus imminent departure is dependent on muscles obliging, I need to be ready so can depart and my need would not justify your dropping everything on a Sunday.

Thanks
Ian
