Hi,

I recently purchased a Garmin 500 and have created a couple of routes on Garmin Connect, but how do I put these onto my Garmin so I can use the breadcrumb trail?

Thanks

Open your course: "Plan" tab, then "Courses". Click your course on the left then click on "View Details". You then get an option to "Send to Device".

i was given ridewithgps.com. register with the site and the world is your oyster. you can use others rides and you can download the gpx files straight onto your garmin. I created a file on my desktop then just transfer the files onto the sd card thats in your device. easy as that. I have a 605 and i have put a britain map pack in it which is a vast improvement on the basemaps that come installed. If you have any problems there is a large help file on one of the tabs at the top of the webpage which will give you a step by step guide.

Hope this helps

I did not think this was possible on the free version , i thought you had to down load manually and drag and drop into the Garmin "New Files"

No its possible and very easy but it wont do it direct, but just use Garmin TC that you should have anyway.

. I also prefere it to the garmin site.

Open and log into ride with GPS

Click add content, add ride

Map the ride and save it.

Go to profile and routes to view

Export the file to my docs, tcx as a .TCX file DO NOT SAVE AS GPX (garmin 205)

The download will go to downloads file,

copy and paste this to the TCX file folder. (make a tcx folder in docs)

To send to the Garmin 205

With the 205 switched off, plug in the usb and connect to the pc

The battery will start to charge and Training center will start.

Click on the top left “courses” tab

Click file

Click “import to current user account”

Click “courses” from drop down list

Look in “TCX Files” folder

Select file as required & Click “open”

The file is then imported to TC, imported courses.

Hilite the course title (with the file icon to the left)

Click the blue rec with the green arrow facing left (Send to device)

Sending data box appears.

Data is sent to the 205.

(note the 205 is not switched on)

Disconnect the usb

Turn on the 205

Keep pressing mode until menu appears

select training and press enter

select courses and press enter

scroll down and select course, press enter

The nice thing about this way is that you have a saved tcx file as backup.

Garmins site will also import a tcx file.
