That's probably the worst route to the airport in an evening.
I said it was quick and flat....why is it the worst?
If you mean dangerous then yeah I'll conceed that.....maybe train to the airport and ride the rest..?

I wouldn't use the word dangerous as I don't believe that's correct for riding a bike, but I will give you some reasons why it is the worst:

- Oxford Road, through Rusholme and student ville. Cars double parked, constant stream of buses, students on bikes riding poorly, taxis competing for space.
- Longley Lane./Styal Rd. Terrible surface, narrow, poorly lit and slightly uphill. Close passes by impatient drivers.
- Ringway Road to motorway roundabout. Not easy to traverse the r'about with car drivers entering the motorway or going into the airport or not knowing where they are going.

Hi all

I did the Oxford/Wilmslow/Palantine road route. I work at the university, so I'm used to the general incompetence and ignorance or Rusholme drivers ("cycle lane - oooh I'll just leave my Q7 there and fling the doors open").
I was pretty quick down there at 5:20, I spent a lot of time filtering.
The route through Wythenshawe had some useful cut throughs.
The roads round the back of Hale/airport weren't lit, so I was gratetful of my magicshine.
Brooks drive is a useful shortcut, but I had to get off and push the first 200m as it's not paved.

Total time around 50mins, which I'm quite pleased with.
