Blimey. A pair of shorts, liquorice paper roll up hanging on your bottom lip, socks up to your knees, no one would know.

Mine was not like that,it weighed more than a Centurion tank.I hated the second delivery in Shadwell,first delivery you got taken to the start via a van,second delivery the bloody bike.That 'walk' Ash Hills i loved it,i was so fast a Royal Mail top knob,who lived there asked our delivery office manager if i could be put on it full time,he was told no,it had it's own postman.In those days you stayed on your 'walk' as long as you liked.

I love mine. A wonderful workhorse that I picked up for free. Needed a bit of work but not too much. I'm not sure the mid 20th Century title from the auction house is particularly accurate though.

Used one on my first duty for several months until about this time in 2010, such heavy bikes, not a bike for hills unless you're a strong cyclist!

Seems cheap enough.

Bloody strong though these bikes. Have one in Elephant bike form. £50 is a steal for this piece of steel.

The best comment i had about it was a neighbour who wanted to try it out and immediately came back and said it was a "boat anchor"

Above average condition for a postie bike, the seat pins always rusted like that, novelty to see it still had the front lamp intact, that bag hanging of the back is a shoulder bag only, there were some quite capacious ' pannier bags supplied, even if the seams always toar,minimal air in the tyres.
I kept mine in tip top condition ,mind you was my postie duty to fix them at my office, rode the thing to work my walk , and any shopping I did, blooming solid workhorse.
Mind you the Millennium model was the better bike,

Our works Postie had been the Bike maintenance guy and got shifted to delivery when the bikes were discontinued.
