Try talc? Shaving? Sudocreme is thick and messy but it washes out fine, which presumably you are doing after every time you wear. If not, and if the soreness continues you might want to get checked there's not something nasty and fungal living in your nether parts and causing the soreness
I'll try talc or Sudocrem. Shaving seems to make it worse. Maybe waxxing

Tights are only used once then washed.

Stick some deep heat down there that will sort you out :surrender: in all seriousness i to have used the same recipe as @jefmcg has posted and it's good stuff that's saved me a fair few £££'s.

When was the last time you had your prostrate checked out? Not pleasant, but a distinct possibility.

Don't shave! Hair is there for a reason. I believe the British Olympic cycling team were told not to shave or wax to avoid saddle sores.

I found out that it does hurt after shaving quite quickly

Though, on the other hand, it is on my belly too. Would love to know the reason for that one

As an aside: I occasionally see women on CC ask questions about lady-parts and all the men start chiming in with "helpful" advice before women can say anything. At those times I have thought to myself (and maybe posted) that you'd never see women doing the same thing on cyclechat.

I stand corrected.

Oh, and +1 to not waxing. Having all the hairs pulled out by the roots will be more painful than the chafing, and if you think it's irritated now, add a half dozen ingrown hairs, and it will be much worse.

Using a proper trimmer in that area is much kinder to your skin. You can trim the hairs quite short and they don't chafe or grow inwards. Much more pleasant. You can still use a barrier cream whilst cycling and have a good wash/shower as soon as you finish.

I had been wearing rugby shorts over cycling bib tights so as to save face when I get to work

Today I was in a rush, and amongst other things I forgot to put shorts on, and no soreness today.

Maybe some of the shorts were getting in and rubbing?

Have you raised the saddle since you last rode the bike? A saddle that's too high will make you rock your pelvis and that will cause chafing.
