Ride still on subject to the unlikely event of a cheap skiing holiday turning up. We usually go on a super cheap last minute holiday at Christmas but it hasn't happened this year for various reasons so still looking for a cheap one. So far we have:

Angel-Diva
Orange
3ttt
Vikeonabike

Still missing a couple of regulars, Batesy and Cycleruk who maybe are still hibernating.

Is this the fifth or the 29th now? I could make the 29th IF my bike is repaired in time, waiting on SRAM to send a new shifter as mine broke in warranty.

Ah! another one who needs to sample the ambrosia of riding without gears, not a lot to go wrong. Only kidding, got to keep fixed riders in the minority or the prices will go up! This one is 5th Feb, the next one will be on a Saturday which will open it up to those who use the train, sorry you can't make it, fantastic riding in these parts.

Batesey got into a fight with a shuttlecock but is all recovered now and I think he's weather dependent for the 5th!

I can't stop laughing, though I guess I shouldn't laugh to much else he'll be pushing me off my bike!

Well, just in case any real tough men are reading this thread, never let it be said we don't breed hard men around these parts, battered by a shuttlecock and will not ride in the cold, how hard can you get?

Right, it's about time this thread was resurrected as only a week and a half to go. I am off up north this weekend visiting outlaws and on the Sunday doing another forum ride. I was wondering how many miles have been clocked up by everyone since 1st Jan?
PS do you think Simon is still talking to me?

Normally we all meet at the station but there is a better road, Kilburn Rd alongside the playing fields of Oakham school. Go down Station Rd from the station [Railway Pub on right] about 300 metres and it is the first turning on the left before the zebra crossing and the Police Station. It is a long straight road and anywhere down there is ok on a Sunday.

Ah, sorry can no longer make it - daughter's judo competition has taken precedence. Pity, I was looking forward to it; next time again, for sure.

Batesey is still talking to us and both of us are still on track for the 5th

If anyone has an inside line to any of the following gods [wind, ice, snow] please start making the necessary sacrifices. Unless this high pressure system start to shift at the end of the week, [and currently it is sitting over half the earth!] it is going to be a tad cold, but dry.
