Rutland Water

Am planning on cycling around Rutland water, i believe there its mostly path/gravel with a small section of road. I have a cyclocross bike with specialised armadillio 23 tyres on, would these be ok (if stays dry) or would i be best to swap out to the original kenda 32(?)

It's a fairly sedate ride, not too many hills (one hard one depending on which way you go round) but I'd use the 32's as its a little bit bumpy in places. It's a nice route by the way.

Hi, I did this last Weds I think it was. I was on a standard Boardman hybrid team with the tyres about 100psi. I've been cycling about 5weeks now and to be honest it was easy so I did 30miles Thursday evening before I went to the pub. :-)

It's a nice ride.
If in the area a few days try Brampton valley way? Market harborough to Northampton. I've yet to do this tho.

My wife and I have just got back from a 20 mile ride on the Brampton Valley. Stopped half way for a picnic What a lovely day in the English countryside

Yes a nice loop. Can be very busy and worth putting mudguards on if you have clip on/removable ones. Nice pub half way round too! A cross bike will be fine. I have been round on a tourer and an mtb. Enjoy!

You'll be fine. Unless they've changed it since I was last there the bit across the top of the dam is a bit bumpy because of the way they've built it - a bit like riding over a long cattle grid - but that's about all really. Enjoy.

Thanks had a great ride, nice and warm and not too busy. Glad I changed tyres from skinnies though as there was a guy changing a puncture on his skinny wheeled road bike.
